Addison watched the beast enter the tavern. He was torn as to what action to take. He wasn't sure if the ruffian he was talking to would be an asset or not. In fact, he wasn't at all sure the man wasn't a spy for this demon's army.
The other two strangers, though, definitely did not come from this region. The Oriental influence was evident in their appearance (OOC: I'm assuming this since you two spoke Japanese. Correct me if I'm wrong). That brought back fond memories of his days in the monastary. He wanted to help, but couldn't risk revealing their location. They couldn't dare stand up to this demon until they rejoined with the paladins (and hopefully LOTS of reinforcements).
He sent Skrith to the tavern window to survey the scene. Inside was total carnage. That demon-spawned creature was literally tearing every person in the tavern apart, one-by-one. The two newcomers had their exit blocked and the ruffian was still over in the corner, doing his best to remain unseen.
Time was growing short. Addison used his telepathic link with Skrith to extend the reach of his ESP spell from the woods to the tavern. He only had time scan the surface thoughts of the three in question. None of them seemed to be angry at being betrayed by this demon lord. While Addison couldn't be positive without a more thorough probing, there simply was no time left. He ran quickly away from the area TAO and Raymond were and began casting a spell. A Dimensional Door appeared behind the two newcomers as they pushed through the crowd. Addison pulled his cloak up and held it close around his head. He didn't want any spies in the tavern getting a good look at his face. It was bad enough that he had to cancel his Invisibility without really using it. He stepped halfway through the Dimension Door and yelled to the newcomers, "QUICKLY, through here. You'll be safe in my keep" He paused for a moment, carefully considering his next action. Then he turned towards the corner and said "You too ruffian. Let's go". The newcomers hesitated briefly, but Madman did not. He sprinted for the magical portal. As the two elves considered their alternatives, one of the taverns other patrons needed no extra prompting. He also ran for the portal. Addison balled his hand into a fist and concentrated his inner power, as the monks had taught him. He struck the patron sqaure on his nose, channeling all of his energy into the punch. The man fell to the floor on his back, stunned from the impact.
The elves looked at each other again. Their would-be savior certainly didn't seem that friendly, but that demon-fiend was getting much closer.
Kishin looked at Skye and said "Better a human foe than a demon-spawn, don't you agree?" Skye nodded quickly and they entered the portal, weapons at the ready in case they were needed on the other side.
The three strangers were shocked to find themselves in the woods only a short distance from the tavern, rather than in some far-away keep.
"Heeey. You said we was going to your keep. What happened wizard?" Madman asked.
Addison looked at the ruffian and said, "I lied".
If Madman, Skye, or Kishin have a problem with me temporarily "taking over" their characters, let me know. I will be glad to either edit or delete the post as necessary. I only did it this time because I basically needed an immediate response from your characters. Let me know if this is acceptable, or if you had your own plans for escaping.
