Fifteen prisoners and one rebel Lake Elf managed to survive the fighting and reach the throne room. Varja had only suffered a few minor cuts and scratches in the fighting, more from being shoved around accidentially than from actually being wounded by attacks.
As they burst through the huge decorated double doors leading into the throne room they were attacked by ten of the Queen's elite guards while the Queen herself jumped up from her throne, which was on a raised dais, and ran down the back of the dais where she dissapeared through a concealed door in the back wall.
