He laughs softly seeing her rush again to her pack. Rather than sitting he steps forward that he might meet her movement as she rises from the pack, placing the unburned fingers of his left hand against her lips. “It was only one hand,” he smiles, “and the burns are slight.” Taking a turn at brushing the hair from her eyes, he continues, “And besides, you’re worth it.” He kisses her upon the forehead and then moves to remove the whistling teapot from the fire.
