Well, if you wait until ToB, then you will have the option to add a very powerful Evil Fighter to your group......
My thoughts for an Evil group:
Me=Fighter type, probably monk or kensai
Korgan
Viconia
Jan
Edwin
With a 5-member group, each will level up faster, and you can add a certain fighter as the 6th member at the start of ToB.....
