"Your Majesty, I have located the princess." ~ He bows low before his ruler, muscles tensing in anticipation of the impending lash of fury ~ "She is travelling around the plains incognito, abandoned by her companions."

"And what of them? Do you know if Elena is among the group?" ~ The conversational tone giving Vane the creeps, for the underlying tone of menace is unmistakable ~ "I wonder that you would leave my daughter to fend for herself, Vane."
Vane
"She would not trust me, Your Majesty." ~ He tilts his head up, hazarding a glance at the commanding figure before him ~ "She suspects I am in league with you... not that I know why that is so distasteful to her." ~ He bites his tongue, remembering the critical importanct of discretion ~ One more word and I'd be finished... ~ Inwardly groaning ~ What the hell is going on anyway? Aren't they supposed to be on the same side?

"So you have gone on a wild goose chase with no news to bring me." ~ His eyes freezing the look on Vane's face ~ "For you must realise that she will be continuing on her amblings even at this very moment." ~ Contempt oozing from every word now ~ "You seem to be of little value to me, Vane... tell me, why should I let you live?"
