ic: He breathes slowly and deeply as he looks at his damaged hand. “No way the glove is going back on,” he mumbles. “No, it’s never easy,” he laughs. He moves quietly to the others and placing his hand lightly on the cloak whispers, “KayLisa. Protect.” The cloak slowly enfolds her body in a protective embrace. Returning to his place he shifts his gaze to her hands, gloved and resting just beneath Neb’s grasp. “The hours will be not be that long,” he thinks. He removes the locket from around his neck opens it and places it gingerly in his right hand.
