Because by the end of the game it's likely you will not have met some of the other PC's. That's why there're so many characters. There's no requirement that they bump into eachother! It's
likely that you'll meet and potentially travel with a good many of them, but good garsh Larry if you want to stay by yourself for the entire flipping game you can do that! Now you're going to ask:
"Then how the hell's the game supposed to end?!" Simple!
