It's ironic actually. Diablo 2 was what got me hooked to Baldur's Gate 2.

For one, if I hadn't ever attended the forums of Diablo II on the Blizzard website, then I never would have found out about Baldur's Gate II, or the whole BG Series. I had heard many mixed reviews from other Diablo II fans. Some said BG2 sucked. Of course, these were the type of people who wrote down words such as r0x0x0rs and whatever the hell all of that other annoying stuff means. Some said it was cool. I had to see for myself.

So I bought the game, played it, and ended up uninstalling Diablo 2. Now don't get me wrong, I liked Diablo 2, but mainly for it's Multi-player gaming, which got boring fast though. You see, I hated it at the same time because of the predictibility of it. Whenever someone wanted to PK (Player Kill) me, they went hostile, and it wasn't only easy to defend myself when need be, but I could also just Town Portal myself to town and go somewhere else.

And there were STILL people complaining about Pks! God, Multiplayer games are boring as hell if you DO NOT have a chance of losing items after a while!

Anyway, I liked Diablo 1 too, but too many cheaters using Trainers on Diablo Multiplayer to like it. I'll say it again, the Pks didn't ruin Diablo, the cheaters did.

Someone cheats so they won't be pked.

Then they begin to pk people, and find it fun.

Items duplicated everywhere.

When I want to roleplay in a multiplayer environment, I want to Role Play, which means I don't want to go through 'care bear land' knowing I won't ever be backstabbed. I want an element of Danger.

So came BG 2, which although I never tried Multiplayer, I found quite enjoyable. For one, more complex, and there's always an element of danger with whoever you deal with in the Baldur's Gate world. (Might I add, I did meet one person who hated Baldur's Gate because they didn't like to be 'backstabbed'. (Think some of the characters, they also hated Pks in Diablo))

The only thing BG does lack would be the items, however, this is a D&D game, you're supposed to gain items, then eventually the DM takes them away, Via kidnapping. (Via Irenicus)

Now, all we need is the creators of Diablo, Baldur's Gate, and Ultima Online to make the most cool and rocking Multi-Player game online ever! A dream that will never come true.

So I will buy Neverwinter Nights as soon as I find it then...
