Slowly, he caress his lips against the woman's smooth neck. His hands enclosed her frail frame, gently stroke her skin. The dim light flashed, brightened and darkened the small basement.
The two of them on top of an old sofa. Cans and used bottles and other household staff lay scattered, some of them pile up and blocked what little room there is left in the room.
It is cold down here. But it had not affected Albert, as much as it did to Jessica. Her naked body shivered once.
Pulled back, Albert sat up and examined her. Examine, no marvel at her wonderful body, for it helds no warmth in his cold heart. He resisted the urge to lay down beside her and take his feast. But he felt the familiar desire coming from his stomache, the smell of warm flesh and blood burnt him. "When was the last time that I stopped thinking and took this for granted?" He wondered, looking at the woman.
"Maybe the elders are right, eventually, this will come as a second nature." He felt something similar to a shiver running through his spine, an image of other Kindreds stalking the helpless preys in the dark valley or night streets presented in his mind. 'There will be a time,' Kuzura Giovani's words sounded beside his ear 'you will come to understand that you are the Master, and they the herd. They are born to serve, and so serve they shall.' "Herds?" the words echoed in Albert's mind. He'd feel insulted for being called such a name two years ago. That was when he wasn't really the he right now. He was still a mortal, one that still breaths and feels warmth, one that loves.
"Love..." he frowned frustratedly. Albert still remembered what it is like to love, to care and to feel the passion, yet that memory is slipping away from him. Something within him is eating away what little is left in his memory as he lives by day. "Kindred blood" He muttered with a comfirmed face "that must be it." When he tried to recollect what was it like to be a human, he saw a blurry picture, as if it was really someone else.
He remembered the first time he feasted on a helpless child. It was all of a fuzzy memory now, but he remembered feeling guilty afterwards and even that was a broken piece to him. He could barely see the fainting expression and feel the feeling of life slipping away from the child in his hand. "When?" he asked silently "when did I start this 'feasting' without giving a second thought?"
Jessica moaned softly, and turned her body once, anxieous for Albert to continue what she thought to be 'sex'
The dim light flashed, brightened and darkened the room...
