OOC>>> Sorry if I kept everyone waiting It's bedtime, so last post for now.
IC>>>
"Did you think you could escape from me?" ~ The smoothness of his voice sends shivers running down her spine as she watches him approach. A dark figure against the equally dim background, now advancing towards her purposefully. She feels her entire body trembling, but shock holds her in a paralysed state...
"Why would you leave me, fair Mistral?" ~ He continues, his eyes now flaring out brilliantly as if they are lit by a glowing fire ~ "Do you not know the penalty for betraying me?" ~ The tone of pity increases the sense of terror in her heart, and she stammers ~ "P...please, forgive me, Master... I had no choice..."
"What do you mean, you had no choice?" ~ Standing before her now, his ageless face smiles with amusement ~ "Were you forced to leave at knifepoint? Were you coerced into swearing a geas to serve your captors... incidentally my victims?" ~ As the rhetorical questions bombard her ceaselessly, she feels her energy draining away.
"Please... let me go... what use could I be to you?" ~ Her voice takes on an edge of panic. The immediate response that she gets is a laugh, one that is not particularly pleasant ~ "Precisely, my dear. Since you are useless to me, would it not be better for me to kill you off right now?"
"No!" ~ She screams, tearing herself away from the vicious grip of fear. Finally, she succeeds and staggers backward, only to find herself up against a solid wall. The smirk on her master's face deepens and she braces herself for the next words before her death. And yet...
"I know you are afraid of death, my dear Mistral." ~ He continues conversationally ~ "... and so, I shall spare your pathetic life. But know this, dear one. That from this day forth, you shall meet me in this state every few days... as and when I wish to see you. And it shall be very often..." ~ Chuckling softly, he turns away from her, returning to the darkness.
"No!..." ~ Her anguished cries echo back, mocking at her...
In reality, she tosses and turns, beads of perspiration forming on the temples of her head.
