It depends on your constitution. IIRC a CON of upto 18 will only heal 1 HP when you rest for 8 hours. CONS of 19-25 increase your natural regeneration rate vastly, so draw upon holy might before you rest (as spells are active until you wake) and you'll get 8 hours natural regeneration with a higher CON score. A CON of around 22 should just about fully heal you regardless of HP when resting for 8 hours.
