And I vote in favor of Clerics, although NOT for healing spells. I've found that I found enough healing potions throughout the game.
Jaheira (Insect Plague, Summon Fire Elemental) and Anomen/Viconia (Negative Plane Protection, Chaotic Commands, Holy Smite) have proved to be very useful. At one point I had both Anomen and Viconia in my party - this was a nice combination when battling undead (vampires, liches, etc).
Finally gave Viconia the boot in favor of another tank (Keldorn & then Valygar) but Jaheira and Anomen will remain in my group.
