O.k, prot. from magical energy is good, so is misled. In fact i use them both on occasion. I usually have my cleric do the detection spells while my mage does the combat, anyway even when i had Keldorn i hadly ever used true sight but thats prob. just me.
Contingence is a laugh, one extremly low level spell wich you dont need since any smart tactician keeps his mages far away from the front.
And Chain lighting simply doesnt do enough damage to do as much as tickle the hordes of tough creatures you encounter later in the game.
