It's your game, and it's your time spending on it, and noone, NOONE may tell how you should play it - with/without cheats or whatever else. That is only one right way of playing any game - while you're enjoying the game, it's right.

As to your question, I'm afraid I can't really help, sorry. But I think TeamBG (www.teambg.com) has some utilities for removing expCap.
