Is this for BG2? Because I avoid dual classing but I go by the AD&D 2nd ed rules, (that way I figure I'll be able to figure out why things happen the way the do.) Dual class characters do get to recieve thier hps for the 2nd class. They dont get use thier abilties from the first class and the difficulty of dual classing is the stat requirements for the 2nd class, dependant on the class.Another problem with dual classing if done at higher levels of couse is the fact you suck in abilty compared to the rest of the party. It's a shock when your use to playing a powerful fighter who cant whack a low level monster because your now a first level cleric.
