Well a few spell casting tips for ya. Ruby ray is not 100% needed if you have pierce magic which works most of the time. As for true sight cast that before the fight starts. once per round it will dispell illusions until the spells duration is up. do that right before the fight starts and it will continue to dispell throughout the entire combat. As for spells like pierce magic and breach you will see messages like Jon Irenicus - spell protections removed or something like that when it effects him. The thing is you need to make sure the spell you are casting can affect him. When combat starts and you see spells like spell shield, or globe of invulnerability you need to make sure whatever spells you cast can affect the spells he has up (often you need to cast something else. before casting breach or the breach will not work).
As for summonded creatures Aerial servants are certainly better than lesser elementals. Wyverns and efreets are not awful but you will get a long duration from the servants and stalkers. monster summoning 2 and 3 and woodland beings just doesn't cut it for a combat like this. you only have 5 creatures you can have and with huge demons pounding on em you need stuff that can take a beating. if you can't summon all the big stuff cast animate dead with a level 15 or higher character and you get greater skeletons. greater skeletons are very tough and have an extremly high magic resistance. Under normal fights I like to mix the skeletons and the aerial servants. against mages I like to load up on the skeletons.
oh another thing. you may have issues casting spells against invisible opponents and lose the message it gives in all the scrolling. if you target a spell at Jon and he goes invis before you actually cast it then the casting will fail. this is why true sight rocks so much cuz every time he goes invis it dispells it(which I think he does alot. Most mages tend to have stuff like mislead in their contigencies or spell triggers).

another thing you may want to do in preperation is buff up against fire damage if you are taking alot of that from the demons. and ofc don't forget stoneskins and ironskins for druids and mages (its sorta stating the obvious there but it makes an enourmous difference so it bears mentioning)
