Do they have to be accurate to PnP rules?
Why not give him resistance to elemental damage (fire, ice, lightning) and uh..the ability to cast fear at a saving throw of -4 or something. Or the ability to paralyse like a ghoul?
I dont know what a demon knight is like in PnP but those sound pretty demonish..
