Another two nice ways to kill a lich:

1. Cast Polymorph self and change into a mustard jelly. Then confront the lich with just the polymorphed character - as a mustard jelly you are 100% immune to magic. Do nothing just let him waste his spells on you. When your spell is about to expire or a monster summoned by the lich attacks you retreat and attack the then weakened lich with all your might. At this point the lich normally is no real problem any more.

2. Make as many of your tanks and thieves invisible as possible and haste them. Sneak up to the lich and pound away at him with the thieves backstabbing so he isn´t able to put up his defenses.

Both methods work fine for me against single high level spell casters.
