You will get into the blocked off crypt area if you undertake the quests the Shadow thieves give you. The last quest I believe that Aran gives you is to wipe out the enemy guild who is trying to undermine the shadowthieves, which happen to be a guild of vampires.
They are based in the blocked off area, so Aran will send a mage named Haz to meet you at the crypt doors. Haz brings a Golem with him who will batter down the doors. Then you can head inside and complete the Shadow Thief quest.
Im not sure, but I also believe you can get in there if you sided with the vampire guild against the shadowthieves and worked for Bohdi the vampire instead of Aran.
