i just finished a quest in the shadow thieve's guild, and on the body of one of the lieutenants (i'm not really sure, but she was in charge of that area) was a "buckler +1, with no missile protection". that means i
do receive piercing protection. lying next to her was a guard who's "buckler +1, with no missile/piercing protection" was left behind, as i only needed one.
so take that however. just thought i would mention it, as it was a fresh encounter.
