My question involves spoilers about NPC's from BG1...

I feel rather stupid asking this, but I can not figure it out by myself - where is Ajantis in BG2? I've tryed to use a search engine and found out that several people mentioned Adjantis being one of the paladins killed mistakenly by our party in Windspear Hills. If this is true - how do you know there was Adjantis? I mean - no names were indicated during that fight, no conversations, no information scrolls - no clues at all! Why do you think he was among those paladins?
Also, during my several BG2 games I met Montaron&Xzar, Safana&Coran, Garrik, Quelie (sp?) and Tiax. Is there somebody else - from BG1 NPC's?
Any clue would be greatly appreciated.
