Your going to have to approach this one problem at a time. Start from the ground up. First make a single function, then add to it, after you determined it works.
Because right now, you have all sorts of things heaped on there, and you could have made little mistakes with every ability. Thats what I did. I made a wildly complete set of items, and few of them worked. So I am going more slowly this time.
Also, I couldnt get many spells and stuff to work. But that was when I was using another (just changing an existing item). When I started from scratch, more things seem to work.
