Yes, the +2 is an upgraded version from Cromwell, you will need the original Mace of Disruption AND the REAL illithium you get from the Temple Quest. You can get the illithium in 2 ways (in game legitly):
1) Kill Sarle (spelling) after you give him the original illithium (which finish the temple quest), he will always have the illithium in his inventory;
2) Get the fake illithium from the ore merchant and do the temple quest in a "not so good" way, Sarle gets pissed, temple gets fake statue, you get real illithium for Cromwell.
