Oh yeah about the pantaloons thing..
In BG2 to get the silver pantaloons you have to pose as a kidnapper..but when the guy that appears with the pantaloons talks to you, he lets it slip that the real kidnappers "agreed" upon the pantaloons as a ransom. Therefore, they wanted the pantaloons, or had some use for them..sorta like..you're cutting into another adventuring group's quest thats separate from yours but still in the same region and you won't find out the real deal till u get like..bronze pantaloons or something. Its like those other groups you meet during the game..each with their own agenda and motives..its so cool, it's like all these adventures going on in real time while you go do your own quests..reminds you that you arent the only adventurers in town (just the best and the most well-equipped)
Whats my point to this meaningless post?
When you get the bronze pantaloons, you'll be able to bring them to Cromwell and forge a metal alloy that when applied to hide armor makes it a battlesuit akin to Venom's symbiotic armor.
