I went through the game with a really evil party
It was mainly me, Fighter/Assassin
Korgan, Fighter (replaced at certain intervals where I wanted to have another character in the group to do specific quests)
-Gains XP like mad
Minsc, Ranger
-He's good, as in alignment wise, but a good fighter and he won't leave you unless you do something REALLY stupid or let your reputation drop waaayyy below 10. Evil characters should be smart enough to avoid that anyway.
Viconia, Pure Cleric
-The only pure cleric in the game, rather weak, and Clerical skills are important, not essential, but a great character to have nontheless.
Edwin, Conjurer
-The best spellcaster in the game, I planted the Robe of Vecna on him and let him take the position of heavy artillery in my party. Very powerful, and very funny.
Imoen, Mage/Thief
-Essential to plot, and a good backup mage. I put the Staff of the Magi on her for easy Backstabs. She's a "good" character too, but she won't leave you under any circumstances. Also, notice how she sounds remarkably like Nalia, whom I used in her place till I got Imoen back
I completed the game with this few. I for one, have not played a game where I havent used Minsc the whole way through.
