if you want to alter the romance aspect of bg2, you can use a script in your override folder.
there are 2 good ones, both at Kevin Dorner's page "Baldurdash".
choose between Sir Kalthorne's Concurrent Romances script that allows all genders, all races in the love area or The All Races script. Please note that with Sir Kalthorne's script, you don't have to start a new game, but with the other one you do.
