My strategy for fighter level 8.
Potion of coud giant strength, potion of heroism, bless, chant, def. harmony, haste, SpiderBane. Go down, kill cultists (takes about 2 hits for each.) At this point I had to come up to dispel deathgaze. The do the same spellup, go down, kill the demon in about 5 rounds. Well, it may take a bit longer - I got 56 HP critical

, but my normal hits were around 20-30 points, so not much different.
