By far the easiest to get, good blunt weapon which will help you through the game at first is the Staff of Rhynn +4. You can buy it from Adventurer's Mart, for some 18000+ gold at first I think. Buy it and carry in the pack for these nasty moments. Get better REP, the price will drop as well
