The word bump actually means to sort of hit, collide or impact with something. For example If you were walking down the road and you were not looking where you were going you could BUMP in to something.

In this case the thing being bumped is the actual topic, so everyone is bumping in to the topic so that it will move to the top of the topics list. They are basically using the word bump as a quick way of letting everyone know that their response is not for information purposes but simply to make sure that the topic remains at the top of the list and is seen first by people signing on to the BG2 page.

Every time you enter a reply in to a topic strand it automatically moves to the top of the list of topics!
