By clans, do you mean guilds here on the Ironworks boards? I don't know of any clans in the BG2 game.
The board guilds are the OHF (Order of the Holy Flame) and the Laughing Hyenas. Rikard is the founder of the OHF and Yorick is the founder of the Laughing Hyenas.
I don't know that the guilds do anything. And I'm not sure how one would go about joining (maybe e-mail Rikard or Yorick). At one time Rikard was talking about having some sort of competition among his guild members, but I don't know how that ever developed.
