Definitely not.
I am of the opinion that, while some books can be made into films, films into books, films into TV serials, etc etc quite successfully, I would not encourage it. Although some of these work quite well, IMHO they are usually a 'cheap' way of making entertainment which try to capitalise on success in one medium and reproduce it in another - selling the product like a 'brand name', usually with the sole aim of trying to make more money, rather than trying to produce something new/challenging/innovative/imaginative. I would rather see innovation in all media, be it books, games, TV or large screen. Look how much 'spin-off' cr*p already exists on TV, film, and especially in PC games. Just my opinion
