I realise that many of you will not nessasarilly know what a Flamberge is so here is the description I created for a standard non-magical flamberge in BG2. it explains all you will need to know.

This mighty two-handed sword is known as a flamberge it's wavy blade distinguishes it fr m the normal two-handed sword. Flamberges are unuseual in Ferun and are rarely used by anything other than foot knights. They are especially good and bringing mounted warriors down as the blade is large and heavy enough to either cut the rider or his mount in two.
