I used a wand of cloud kill, after a lower resistance spell. the dragon WILL move out of the area of effect, but will be vulnerable to attack with missile weapons, and by vulnerable, I mean it won't be attacking you. Arrows of biting work rather well, and fire arrows. Most important, keep your party spread out, if they aren't actually hacking and slashing, so that area of effect spells don't get everyone. Elementals work really well for cannon fodder.
