You're right, Viconia starts at 50%. But shea gains about 1 or 2% per level afterwards, too, if I recall. And you can wear heavy item if she wears one of the strength-bossting items (I gave her the Gauntlets of Ogre Power). With this, she can also use the Flail of Ages
