The answer to your problem ia DEFINATLY in the registry!! The registry key should be in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\'TheCompanysName'" If you have no other installs by the same company you can delete the whole chunk of keys and values from this company without damaging your OS or any other companys installs. NB: You should back up your registry before doing any registry editing !!
PS: Reinstalling windows will not help unless it is a NEW install (not a reinstall) as a reinstall merges your old registry with the new.
PPS: My PC is still packed as I am in the process of moving. If you still have no success over the next few days post again on a saterday and I wiil write you an .exe to remove the registry entrys for you.
