Nerull the Reaper is an actual inhabitant of Hades. He's not really a deity as such, more a daemonic lord at a level similar to that of the Abyssal Princes (eg Demogorgon and Orcus) and the Grand Duke of the Nine Hells (Asmodeus). His symbol is that of a huge scythe.
