every weapon has different usage.
blunt weapons tend to do extra magical dmg and less physical dmg, which go through various magical protections. edged weapons generally do more dmg, and DOES NOT have the weakness a blunt weapon has (that is, can be stopped by potion)
I normally keep boomrang dagger +3, flail of agies, mace of disruption, daystar, belm +2, Narrama +2, Dragon slayer, Ilbratha +1, Water Edge +3. I keep them all, because with those weapons, there arent any situtation a straight fighter cannot handle
