ok, I am trying to be fair here.
first of all, it is a +5 weapon. in AD&D, weapons above +4 are extremely rare. those are frged by ones have strong faith as well as skills, or blessed by some gods.
so, fine, you made a +5 weapon. then at least let people know HOW exactly did it come to live? who enchanted? (a suggestion is some jealous/angery god.) and what story does it make out? who others wielded it? and why is it where it is now?
you could say it is a gift ffrom some sickly god using to destroy people with good health, and the story blah blah blah, like that. just little suggestion.
