I think, there are good Scimitars in the game, if you kill Drizzt; he got a +5 Scimitar (the Defender) and a +3 one.
By the way I think another good Two-Handed-Weapon (I like it more than the Carsomyr) is the Vorpal Blade (or Silver Sword).
With Korgan in my party i was a little disappointed, cause there are only a few good axes in the game (the only one I remember is the Frostreaver (+3)).
