The bad thing about scimitars is the fact they are few and far between, as a matter of fact they are more scarce than katanas. I hated this because they even warn you about the scarcity of katanas at the begining of the game. ARGH! You now have basically three options:
1: You can endure the pain of probably never being ever to hit with more than a +2 weapon, unless you find the water's edge.
2: You can get some drow scimitars and only use them at night, they are +3
3: You can do what I did and learn how to item edit, I'll admit it was a frustrating as hell the learn, but after you do you can do anything just about.
I'd recommend the third option. Don't go crazy just make a weapon or two that suit your character. I like having non-detection and something that hits with fire damage. I hope this helps.
