i believe if you (SPOILER) sleep with the drow women, the romance ends with whomever you're trying to get with... also, if you remove that person from the party, the romance is dead (including a petrification, which automatically removes the person from the party).
mistakes, however, can be changed with shadokeeper, which i had to do to revitalize jaheira's affections for me
