Hmm, its always hard to choose a new char...
The kensai is cool, but as you said, the fact that they cant wear armour ruins them. So dont them. If ya wanna be a warrior of some sort, I would suggest the monk. They dont need armour (they cant wear either...), they are maybe better without weapons, have lots of great abilities and looks very cool!
If ya want a spellcaster, try maybe a totemic druid or a sorcerer.
The totemic druid is very cool, have great abilities, and have access to all the preist spells (atleast as far as I know). The sorcerer is cool to have if you wanna cast mage-spells, they learn spells as they "grow", so they dont need scrolls to learn.
But there really arent any class that is better, or cooler then another, cause they all have so many and different abilities.
