Actually, I just rolled some character for a PnP DnD session this weekend and I rolled the following:
STR 18
DEX 18
CON 17
INT 17
WIS 17
CHR 18
Mind you, the way we roll chars might be a little different that a chars maker on a game, but still. The way we roll is take 4d6, and throw out the lowest. Do this five times per stat and take the highest. But still, this is by far the highest point total I've ever rolled.
