Thus, if you leave yoshimo behind, you want to leave him in the inn in the pirate town, right near the door, so you can get him back in the party before he drops dead.
I think if he is dead in the party as well, he will not betray you. I.e.: right before you enter the asylum, kill Yoshimo. After Irenicus is gone, raise Yoshimo. If Yoshimo does something weird during the scene at the end of chapter 4, kill him before again and raise him again afterwards. I wouldn't leave him behind for three chapters.
