ok, anyone notices that when you send summoned creatures against pitfiends and other demons, as soon as they get into melee range and contact the demon they turn red? they still attack the demon but if you get too close they will attack you!!!
wot the fook?

tried protection from evil, funny casting it on a skeleon warrior I summoned from hell, and they still did it. does anyone have an explaination or a fix for it?

my typical strategy for dealing with liches and mages who cast gate is to summon my own demon...two demons in sight of each other will always go for each other. this negates the spells effect. however, since conceptually my character is a summoner+psionic, that is a specialist in using summoned creatures for battle, with a lot of psionic based spells for personal offense, it ticks me off to lose 5 skeletons when the opponent casts one stinking gate spell.

oh a good tactic when you need to dispose of your own, or a foe's summoned creatures is the oft neglected death spell, or death fog. the death spell is what a lich casts to get rid of your summoned creatures. cast on a crowd of newly conjured creatures, and they all just disappear. its also a great way to get rid of skeleon warriors who you need to ditch before moving on to the next part of a area
