After letting Ewin join you, or just before, Edwin will tell you that he knows what you are up to. Edwin has the key to the small stand next to Mae Var's bed which has an incriminating letting inside to some outside thief guild. Go one floor down from where Edwin is and into the nice stylish bedroom. The stand is right next to the big bed. Grab the note and go straight to Bloodscalp and deliver it. Good luck!
