All professions gain quite a lot, and the experience cap is raised significantly. I mean, thieves in ToB can learn a skill that let's 'em use anything. Mages can use 9th level spells. Druids get a higher, faster, stronger morphing form, as well as higher spells. Bards get new songs. Whatever you create will benefit. There's no loser in that situation.
