I dont know why everyone is trying to cheat their way into killing him. hes not so tough.
Just gear minsc (or whoever your tank is) up with a ton of weapons, 2 rings of fire protection and the red dragon helm and that old firebreath will act as a much needed heal and while he keeps firkraag busy pound away with spells, and in my case (arrows from my archer) to eff him up.
result, one VERY gratifying battle.
