Wouldn't you prefer to make a new party and build them up yourself
Keep items "you" want and like to use
weapons you prefer and have chosen to add weapon slots where "you" like to have them.

It doesn't take that long to re-play through BG
The more times you re play the quicker it gets naturally
Also you may have missed a few things that you would enjoy re playing to ensure you get/do this time round.
