If you're having troubles running BG2 under Windows Millenium (WinMe), such as constant lods and stuff, go to My Computer/Properties/Performance/File System(?) if I remember correctly, and turn on flag for "Do not use System Restore". This System Restore bastard eats too much resources... Have fun.
